Former President Trump was reportedly shot while speaking in Pennslyvania.
The projectile narrowly missed the president’s head, instead grazing his ear. The Secret Service tackled the president as bullets and screams rang out from the crowd.
“Shooter down,” agents can be heard shouting after a moment.
As the President rose in the clutches of his detail, “wait” the 45th President can be heard saying, “Fight Fight Fight!” he exclaims as he threw his fist up in the air.
The president then asked for his shoes, which had been knocked off in the commotion. He was then taken to an area hospital.
The President’s wounds do not appear to be fatal. This is the first shooting of a President since Reagan in 1981. Others in the audience were reportedly hit, as reported by Dave McCormick, a Pennslyvania senatorial candidate whom Trump had just invited to the stage.
The would-be assassin is reported to be a man at this moment. The other person shot is also reported to be a man.
This event comes in rural Pennsylvania, a place where Trump is particularly well supported.
President Biden, Trump’s opponent, and the cabinet have all been briefed. Biden was reportedly at Mass in Washington D.C. The incumbent refused to make a comment when confronted by reporters.
This event most closely resembles The Iron Lady’s spectacular recovery after she survived the Brighton Bombings, wherein the IRA placed an explosive device under her hotel room’s bathtub.
Although she was in her room, Margaret Thatcher fortunately survived and was uninjured. The attempted assassination came just hours before the Torrie Party Conference (The British equivalent of the RNC).
Thatcher then started the party conference promptly at 9:15 AM the next day, without one moment’s delay. She delivered what is considered to be one of the greatest speeches in British history.
The event immediately preceded the largest electoral landslide in modern British history.
